Vegan vacation

We were pretty successful in scouting out some good food on our trip to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, Canada. When we couldn't find a restaurant that worked, we stopped by the grocery store and bought raw vegetables, guacamole, hummus, chips. We ate a lot of hummus on the trip. Vegans have an easy time in Halifax. We had an amazing meal at a Middle Eastern place called Mezza. Another favorite that we hit on the way in and out of Canada was Calactus. The innkeepers we stayed with were especially considerate in preparing meals for us as well.
We didn't stand a chance on one side of Cape Breton Island. A stop in at the "European" deli yielded a "we don't have vegetables" when we asked for a vegetable sandwich. We finally did find a place that would do it for us though. Check out the $6 iceberg lettuce sandwich below.
Chronicled below are many of our meals.
